The Skyhoundz Classic U.S. Open Qualifier is open to all U.S. teams residing in any state within the U.S. Teams competing to qualify must be residents of the U.S.

An invitation to the Skyhoundz Classic World Championships will be extended to the top 3 teams of the Open Expert, Sport Expert and top 2 teams in Pairs Freestyle, Open Youth, Open MicroDog and Sport MicroDog.  For more information on the Skyhoundz Classic World Championships, please visit the Skyhoundz website

Masters Division is reserved for dogs 9 years of age or more. Dogs competiting in Masters divisions cannot compete in expert divisions

Youth competitors must be at most 15 years of age by Dec. 31st of the current competition year. 

MicroDogs must be 16 or fewer inches as measured from the ground to a midpoint between the front and back shoulders.

Non Q events:

**Team Time Trial (Ohio Rules) consists of 3 dog/handler teams.  Each handler takes a turns throwing to their dog until the team accomplishes three 20-yard catches.  The shortest time wins (max of 120 seconds per round).  Each dog/handler pair may only participate on 1 team.  This event is a Club Choice Event and is not part of the Disc Dogathon Qualifier and will not be included in the Overall Champion calculation.

To compete in the MicroDog division (Men's or Women's), the dog must meet the Skyhoundz MicroDog qualifications.  A MicroDog must be 16, or fewer, inches tall as measured from the ground to a point midway between the shoulders and hips.


Competitors may choose to throw any safe plastic disc that was designed specifically for canine use (no golf discs) as long as the chosen disc also meets the weight requirements of the Class in which the team is competing.

Light Plastic = less than 85g
Classic Plastic = 85g - 110g
Unlimited Plastic = over 125g

SOFK9s Rules: 1. Walk your dog away from the playing field and always clean up after your dog.   
2. Do not let your dog off leash, unless it is competing.
3. Do not interrupt Judges while they are judging.
4. Poor sportsmanship of any sort can get you disqualified from the event without a refund.  Unlawful acts will be reported and prosecuted.
5. Mind your dog at all times.  Do not let un-proofed dogs meet.
6. Be mindful of the run order and have your dog walked and ready when you are called, “On Deck”.  A smooth running event is better for everyone.
7. Have fun.

Discs:

Skyhoundz Classic, Discdogathon, and Xtreme Distance participants must use only the approved discs listed on the Skyhoundz website.

MicroDogs are required to use pup sized discs for all MicroDog division rounds.

For all Novice Freestyle and Novice Toss & Catch divisions:  Any dog-safe disc including Hero, Hyperflite, Fastback variation, Floppy Flyers, Jawz, Euroblends, Super Hero, Hero Xtra, Kong rubber, etc.  All discs must be considered safe for dog use at judges discretion. 


Directions:

Take I-75 to exit 68, Tipp City/West Milton.  Go east on State Route 571 (Main St.) To Hyatt St. (look for the Dairy Queen).  Turn right on Hyatt St. and go 2 blocks to Broadway Ave.  Turn left on Broadway Ave.  Follow Broadway Ave until it dead ends at 1st St.  Turn right at 1st St and follow to Kyle Park on the left side of the road.
