Teams get 60 seconds to score as many catches
in the field’s zones as they can for a maximum score. An airborne catch in
which the dog clearly makes a jumping motion will score an extra half point.
A catch or catch and landing with a single
paw on the outside line of the large triangle is counted as in bounds.
If a dog lands with one or more paws
outside the large triangle, the catch will be scored for the lower
value (zero for Pro, 1 pt for Novice).
Novice will score 1 point if a
catch is scored outside the wedge but inside the field boundaries. Pro will not
score outside of the wedge.
Novice throws must at least pass the
tip of the triangle to be scored
A skip toss bonus
zone has been added to the field. The
skip zone adds 1 point to the catch score when the throw is skipped within
the zone.
The disc
must skip only within the boundaries of the skip zone to count
towards a catch.
Any skip made outside the zone or on the
zone line will be scored as a "no catch"
and receive no points regardless if the catch is made in any scoring zone.
Discs skipped within the zone but caught
outside the designated scoring zones will be
scored as out of bounds and receive no point value.
If a dog straddles two scoring zones during a
catch or catch and landing the lower zone will be counted, with the exception of the 6 point zone.
In the 6 point zone, the dog only needs to have 1 paw on the line or in the
6 point zone to be awarded 6 points.
Time starts when the judges are ready
and then the dog or disc crosses the start line.
All throws must come with the handler’s
feet behind the start line, or a foot fault will be called and a no points will
be scored on that throw. A throw that is in flight as time expires is scorable.
The Start Line Judge can hold a spare
disc for the handler. If the handler wishes to change discs they must hand the
Judge the disc in play, then the Judge will make the disc exchange.
Round 1 and 2 will be added together to
determine the placements.
Novice may use a lure disc and/or a short leash for
control and training. The lure disc must not be thrown or the round will be
scored a zero.
Walls, the ceiling and dividers are out
of bounds as soon as the disc touches it.
Any dog safe disc may be used in the
novice division, pros must use a K-10, Jawz, Fastback variation, Aerobie (soft edged), or Hero
Disc variation
In the event of a tie for a prize
winning placement, there will be a tie-breaker. The team that had the least
number of total throws in both rounds will choose to
throw first or second. If both teams had the same number of throws, a coin
toss will be used instead. Then it is single throw sudden death until a team
outscores the other team.
Nature breaks will stop time,
the mess will be
cleaned immediately, 5 seconds will be run off the clock and you will then
continue with your round. Please make sure to walk your dog before
your round!
